Join local conservation professionals in Northwest Michigan to learn how you can contribute to our work while you are out paddling and playing on the water! You will learn how to identify and report invasive species while preventing their spread. Participants are encouraged to either complete the MI Paddle Stewards online training or attend the virtual presentation hosted in the evening on July 27th via Zoom before joining a paddle event.
This event will take place on July 29 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Torch River.
Two additional On-Water Paddle Trainings are being offered:
July 28th | 5:30-7:30 PM | Crooked River Paddle
July 30th | 9 – 11 AM | Walloon Lake Paddle
Participants must bring a kayak/canoe/paddle board for the on-water events. We have a very limited quantity of kayaks to borrow. Paddlers must wear life jackets at all times out on the water.
Specific paddle locations will be emailed to participants after registration. We look forward to seeing you out on the water!
These events are brought to you by: CAKE-CISMA, Kalkaska Conservation District, MI Sea Grant, Paddle Antrim, Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council and Walloon Lake Association and Conservancy.
