Tree Seedling Sale Order Deadline
April 12, 2022, is the "Priority Deadline” for tree sale orders. We will accept orders after this date but they will be filled based upon inventory and availability.
We carry many native tree and shrub species that are looking for a happy home on your property! Not sure what to plant? Look at the reference guide in the 2022 tree sale catalog. Or you can give us a call and we’d be happy to come out and make some recommendations! Any site visit within Kalkaska County is FREE!
Trees can be picked up in person at the Kalkaska County Recycling Center on Friday, April 29th between 12 pm and 5 pm OR on Saturday, April 30th between 10 am and Noon.
Things to remember about our tree sale and seedling care:
Our inventory is limited to seedlings, so they are just little guys. They average 3 years old and about 8 inches to 3 feet depending on the species. They will take some patience and love to grow big and tall.
Depending on planting location, routine watering during the dry part of summer would help them get off to the right start.
A few inches of mulch can go a long way too. Use anything from a standard (un-dyed mulch) to leaf litter and grass clippings around the base on the trees in an ‘erupted volcano shape’. Mulch shouldn’t be piled around the base of a tree, it’s a recipe for critters and fungus to take hold.

If you are looking for a species that we don’t have inventory for, please give us a call and we can check with our suppliers about getting them or working with the neighboring Conservation District.
