Kalkaska Farmers Market Neighbors Table - New for 2026!

The Kalkaska Farmers Market Neighbors Table provides community members with a low-risk, cost-effective opportunity to begin selling at the market. Designed as an incubator space, it allows new and emerging vendors to gain valuable experience without the commitment of a full booth.

This program also offers an option for vendors who have smaller quantities of product that may not justify reserving a dedicated booth space. By participating, vendors can introduce their products to the community and may be able to contribute to a broader and more diverse selection for our market customers.

The Neighbors Table serves as a direct market outlet for home and community gardeners, as well as part-time farmers with surplus produce, creating an accessible pathway to generate additional income. It also provides a practical environment to learn effective marketing techniques and gain firsthand experience selling in a farmers market setting.

How it works

  • Vendors may participate at the Neighbors Table up to three (3) times per season at a cost of $5 per market - and we will accommodate up to four (4) neighbors per market. The Neighbors Table welcomes fruits, vegetables, plants, cut flowers, eggs, and limited baked goods.

  • At this time, crafts, artwork, and most other non-food items are not permitted at the community table. However, full booth spaces for these product types may be available upon completion of a vendor application, which can be found on the Kalkaska Farmers Market page. Please note that all product approvals are subject to the discretion of the Market Manager.

  • Neighbors Table vendors are required to adhere to all standard market guidelines. The complete Vendor Handbook, along with other important Kalkaska Farmers Market information, is available on the Kalkaska Farmers Market page. If you prefer, you may contact us at 231-564-9055 or via email at kalkaskafarmersmarket@gmail.com and we will be happy to mail a copy to you via USPS.

  • Neighbors may bring up to $200 in total retail value of product to the Neighbors Table each week. There is no minimum quantity required per market; vendors may determine the amount that best suits their needs. The price list must be reviewed with the market manager to ensure pricing matches Kalkaska Farmers Market standards.

  • Participants should be prepared to assist in setting up and taking down the community table, tent, and weights with the market staff.  You must arrive before 1:30 on the day of the market or your space at the table may be forfeited. Participants should be well-prepared with signs and prices.

  • Please do not attend the farmers market until you have received verification that your application has been approved.

Kalkaska Farmers Market reserves the right to cancel program availability or allow use of the Neighbors Table.

We understand that this may be your first time selling at a market, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions - we’re excited to help!
