WOAW Weekend

June 26 @ 4:00 pm - June 28 @ 12:00 pm

Michigan Forest Association will be hosting their inaugural Women Owning and Appreciating Woodlands (WOAW) Weekend at Camp Greilick (property managed by Grand Traverse County Parks and Rec) this summer. Join us on June 26 to 28 as we discuss forest management recommendations, ecological properties of Michigan ecosystems, and what it means to be a good forest steward. There will be numerous sessions hosted by an array of natural resource professionals to help cultivate learning, community, and fun. Come enjoy the camaraderie of summer camp with other women who love and manage woodlands. Attendance is capped at 60 participants, meals will be provided, and there are limited lodgings for those interested in staying on-site at Camp Greilick. Please connect with MFA Outreach Forester Ellie Johnson at ellie.johnson@michiganforests.org or 989-285-2981 with any questions, comments, or dietary restrictions.

Hosted by: Speakers include representatives from Dovetail Partners, Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, Kalkaska Conservation District, Bakkers Forestry, Grand Traverse Conservation District, Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources, Michigan Nature Association, MSU Extension, Grand Traverse County Parks and Rec, Iron Baraga Conservation District, Designs in Bloom, Metcalfe Forestry Co, and others.

Cost: $125 – $200 (depending on MFA member status and staying onsite or not)
