Forestry for Michigan Birds

  • Coldsprings Township Hall 6515 County Road 571 Northeast Mancelona, MI, 49659 United States (map)

Join the Kalkaska Conservation District, Kalkaska County Library, and American Bird Conservancy for an informative workshop on Forestry for Michigan Birds!

Meet us at the Coldsprings Branch Library located at the Coldsprings Township Hall (6515 County Road 571 NE, Mancelona, MI) on January 30th at 4:00 pm to learn all about how to enhance bird habitats!

We will begin with a 30-minute presentation by Austin Heslinga, a wildlife biologist from the American Bird Conservancy. Austin will explain ways to recover forest bird populations while preserving the health of forest ecosystems and promoting sustainable land use.

Following the presentation, participants will create their own bird feeders to take home, offering a way to support local birds and bring conservation efforts to their backyards. We will make bird feeders out of second-hand coffee mugs. If you have a special coffee mug that you would like to use for this craft, feel free to bring it!

This presentation is open to anyone interested and is FREE, but RSVPs are REQUIRED to ensure enough supplies are purchased.

Please RSVP by filling out the form below, calling the KCD office (231-258-3307), or email sarah.schroeder@macd.org.
