Looking for an excuse to get outside? We've got you covered! Join us for our returning monthly weeknight evening hikes on the North Country National Scenic Trail (NCT). This 4,600 mile trail passes right through Kalkaska County and we should get out and enjoy it!

Our July hike will begin at NCT mile MI- 682 at Pickerel Lake State Forest Campground. Meet us at at 5:30pm for a 3mile ‘out and back’ style hike. This section of trail can be slightly challenging. There is a large hill at the start of the hike (and will be there again to go downhill on our return), but once we reach the top there is small elevation changes. We will weave between mature hardwood trees and traipse across the tops of moraines to a raspberry patch. Fingers crossed raspberries will be ready for us to snack on!

This event will count towards the NCTA Hike 100 Challenge.
