Weeknight Hikes - March

  • Upper Manistee Headwaters Preserve 2252 Camp Tapico Rd Kalkaska, MI, 49646 United States (map)

Join us for a Evening hike!

This will be a (nearly) full moon evening hike at the beautiful trails of the Upper Manistee Headwater Preserve!

Look for "Conservation District Event" signs on Grass Lake Road to help guide you to the parking lot. There will also be large directional signs the the preserve.

This is a snow or shine event unless a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect. Every effort will be made to post updates at least 4 hours in advance of the event. You can check back on the event listing or the KCD page.

We'll hike/snowshoe depending on trail conditions and hiker preferences for a total hike of 1.8 miles.

The sun will set at 8:04pm giving us plenty of light (finally after a long and dark winter!). We will have some headlamps available for all to borrow. The trail in this section is relatively flat with little to no elevation changes. We will also have snowshoes available if we have enough snow at that point, please contact us at least one day in advance so we can be prepared to bring extra snowshoes if needed.

For more info call Renee at (231) 258-3307 or email (renee.penny@macd.org). RSVPs are welcomed but not mandatory, simply show up ready to explore!
