The Kalkaska Conservation District and the Kalkaska County Library present: The Kalkaska Conservation Series!

Join us on Wednesdays in April at 5:30pm at the Kalkaska County Library to learn about a different aspect of our beautiful natural environment here in Northern Michigan!

All meetings are free to attend and open to the public. We hope to see you there!


On Wednesday, April 26, join us for "Spring Wildflowers, Sights, and Sounds" with James Dake, Grass River Natural Area.

Orchids, sundews, trilliums, birds songs, and budding trees, oh my! Northern Michigan has a variety of wild orchids & other rare and special plants that bloom in the spring, many of which are found in wetlands and forests of this region. Join James Dake of Grass River Natural Area to explore these flowers & learning what makes these plants special & worth protecting.
