Spring Mushroom Foray

  • The Lewis School 2055 Lewis School Road Kalkaska, MI, 49646 United States (map)

We had such an overwhelming response to our Mushroom Forage last fall, so we’re doing it again!

We are teaming up with The Lewis School to teach you all about the mushrooms popping up in Northern Michigan this spring.

Join us on Sunday, May 19 from 12:30-3 pm at the Lewis School Tree Farm for an afternoon mushroom walk.

Liza Polaskey and Connor Brown are Expert Mushroom Identifiers (certified through Michigan’s Department of Agriculture & Rural Development) and owners of The Lewis School. They will be leading us on a walk around the property and teaching us all about how to identify and use various fungi.

This event will take place outside, rain or shine. Please come dressed for the weather, and wear comfortable (closed-toe) shoes as we will be walking both on and off path through the woods. Bring your own water/beverage and snacks if needed.

RSVPs are highly encouraged and can be done by filling out the form below or by calling the KCD office at 231-258-3307.
