Summer Readers, join us for this guided nature walk at the South Boardman Nature Preserve with the Kalkaska Public Library and the Conservation District!
Visitors to this property will find hiking trails, bridges over creeks and rivers, a viewing platform and interpretive signs marking tree species. The path wanders through many landscapes including a hemlock forest, a red pine plantation, and a cedar swamp.
We will be meeting at 9:30 am at the library. Transportation will be provided to and from the library to the South Boardman Nature Preserve.
This walk is open to children and families of all ages. The walk is about 1-1.5 miles long, and parent or guardian attendance is required.
Registration will open on June 21st. Advance registration is required, as space is limited.
If you can't make this walk, try our Manistee headwaters Nature Walk next week on Thursday, July 14th!
Please sign up in advance by contacting the library via phone at 231-258-9411 or by email at info@kalkaskalibrary.org
