Manistee River Clean-Up
Join us for an adventurous day on the river! We are partnering with Boardman River Clean Sweep, the Traverse Area Paddle Club, and the Upper Manistee River Association.
It’s been a while since we’ve focused on the upper part of the river so it’s time we showed it the attention it deserves.
Novice paddlers are welcome, but some paddling experience is a bonus, as this stretch of the river can be more narrow compared to its downstream stretches.
We will plan on starting at County Road 612 and taking out at M72 DNR boat launch/landing. Those interested should bring water shoes, sun protection, lunch, and their own canoe/kayak.
We will provide some shuttling services and grabber tools for plucking things out of the water. Our office is able to loan out a canoe/kayak for the event with enough advanced notice. Those needing to borrow watercraft should notify us by July 25th. If you RSVP after this date, we cannot guarantee a boat for you to borrow.
