Garden to Garment: Printing & Dyeing with Plants

  • Kalkaska Conservation District 406 South Cedar Street Kalkaska, MI, 49646 United States (map)

Do you love plants? Do you want to learn more about how to use various plants to print and dye at home? Now is your chance!

We will begin the workshop by eco-printing a 27’’x27’’ dishcloth. This technique involves arranging plants and flowers on material, rolling it up, and steaming it to get the plant print onto the material. Following this activity, we will go over what plants can be used for natural dyes, explaining the process of creating dye and the possible color outcomes.

Whether you're a seasoned crafter or a curious beginner, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature, explore sustainable practices, and unleash your creativity.

$10 registration fee includes everything you need to eco-print, an evening of learning, and light refreshments. Space is limited to 16 participants; RSVPs are required.

We have sold out of tickets for this event. To be put on the waiting list and/or to be notified if we host the class again, call the KCD office at 231-258-3307 or email sarah.schroeder@macd.org.
