Stream Leader Training Day: April 23rd, 9am – 3pm
Join us for a field trip to the river to learn about bugs and stream ecology. Gain background information on aquatic insect identification and monitoring procedures as you become certified to lead others in stream monitoring events. No previous experience necessary and no commitment required. Participants should bring a sack lunch. All equipment is provided. Waders are available for use. (Class size limited to 10 people)
Collection Day: May 4th, 9am – 12 pm
Help us count and collect bugs!!! Volunteers will gather at the Kalkaska Conservation District offices and depart in teams to conduct stream surveys on the river. Everyone is invited to participate in this important event. No previous experience is required. Children are welcome, but best suited for ages 10 and up. Food and refreshments are provided post collection.
